Get Uncomfortable!
It’s not often that someone invites you to get uncomfortable – but that’s what I’m going to do. Though it’s contrary to typical human behaviour, putting yourself in an unfamiliar, uncomfortable situation is a crucial part of any success plan.
When we are comfortable, we’re generally complacent. There’s nothing pushing us to work harder. But, when we feel pressure or stress, we’re forced to think about how to resolve the problems that are causing those feelings.
Step away from familiar ideas and environments and think big. Think about what you’ve always wanted to achieve, where you are currently, and who you want to be.
Next, identify what it is that has been holding you back from doing something new. We often avoid being uncomfortable because we’re scared. If we can admit and own our fears, we can liberate ourselves from them.
After this, a thorough, realistic plan that aligns with your goal is needed to ensure that you succeed. It’s not a bad idea to establish a small support group to help you, coach you, and push you through your journey.
Your ability to grow and be more successful is directly related to how often you can put yourself in uncomfortable and challenging situations, so dive into the unfamiliar!
